4.1. Map controls

This chapter explains how you can show/hide map controls.

To be able to use the map, please read this first: Mapping tool

Map settings

Inside the map area you can offer following controls:

• Navigation: The arrow keys and the zoom bar. This control is highly recommended.
• Background: Show or hide the buttons to switch between map/satellite/relief background.
• Scale bar: Show or hide a scale bar
• Overview: A small overview map (allowing quick move)
• Mousewheel zoom: Allow user having a mousewheel mouse to use the wheel to quickly zoom in/out. Note that this option is not recommended, as most users already use the wheel to scroll the page: indeed, while scrolling the page, as the mouse come over the map area, the user suddenly stop scrolling and zoom the map by mistake.

You can also chose a specific symbol as location marker.
